To Our Clients,

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your patience and loyalty to State Bank & Trust Co.   These are unique and trying times. Over the past 4 months we have faced many challenges.   The two that have affected our business the most are COVID-19 and the Main Street Infrastructure project.

As you are all aware, State Bank closed our lobby in March due to the pandemic.   This move was driven by our desire to keep both our clients and staff safe.  During this time, we divided into two teams to minimize the threat of exposure.   With one location, had we been exposed, health guidelines would have forced us to quarantine the affected staff.   If our entire staff had been involved, it would have effectively closed the bank causing disruption of services relied on by many.

Alongside the pandemic, Main Street businesses have been planning for the Main Street Infrastructure project.   State Bank actively supports the project and understands the need for new infrastructure. We were aware of the challenges it would pose.   In 2019, we developed a plan to navigate the difficulties this would bring.  We expected the drive-up to become a walk-up, but still maintain lobby access.   However, the advent of COVID-19 changed this plan and closed our in-person services.

Since March, we feel things are improving.  Slowly we’re learning more about COVID-19 and many businesses are beginning to “re-open.”   In late June, State Bank brought all of its staff back to our location on a daily basis.   In addition, we are developing avenues that allow clients to enter portions of the bank by appointment.   The Main Street project has progressed and concrete has been poured.

We need to keep in mind that the pandemic threat still exists.   State Bank will be opening its lobby soon, but before that happens, I need to feel confident that you as our client will be safe and my staff will be safe.  Once we reopen, we want to be sure we can remain open.   The lobby may appear different the next time you visit but rest assured we’re still here to help you navigate your financial needs.

As I stated above, I want to thank you for your loyalty and patience during these challenging times.   I also want to take this opportunity to publicly thank my staff. Their flexibility has allowed State Bank to continue serving you.

Be safe, be patient and thanks to all.
