Maxwell Custom Beef officially opened its doors in 2025, driven by a clear need in Central Iowa: more custom beef processors to serve a growing market of local producers and consumers. Seeing the gap and the opportunity Tucker Maxwell stepped in with a commitment to quality processing and strong community relationships.
Since launching, Maxwell has found one of the most rewarding parts of the business is meeting the many great Central Iowa beef producers and consumers who rely on local processing. Building those relationships has been at the heart of his success and continues to shape the way his business grows.
State Bank & Trust Co. (SBT) has had the privilege of working with Maxwell, supporting him from the early operational stages through expansion. Our partnership helped him get up and running, navigate startup challenges, and grow his footprint in a competitive market. Through our work together, Maxwell was able to purchase key equipment to automate ground beef processing and expand cooler capacity, both critical investments to meet increasing customer demand.
Maxwell shares that because of his relationship with SBT, he was able to get his business off the ground and keep pace with the growing needs of his customers and the Central Iowa market.
