Our History

Since opening its doors in 1939, State Bank & Trust Co. has been committed to serving the financial needs of individuals, families, businesses, and agricultural clients throughout eastern Story County. What began as a community bank in downtown Nevada has grown alongside the communities we serve, guided by a tradition of local decision-making and personal service.

In 1983, the bank became part of Ames National Corporation, a family of Iowa community banks. While benefiting from the strength and resources of a larger organization, State Bank & Trust Co. continues to operate with local leadership, an independent Board of Directors, and decision-making authority rooted in the communities it serves.
